Get Free Software through your Board of Education!

Did you know that your school may be eligible to use state Board of Education funding to cover its purchase of Davka software? Under the No Child Left Behind laws (Title 2d), private schools are entitled use state money to purchase software for their students. Additional funding opportunities may be available through your state's Board of Education. Contact our School Sales Department to find out what state funding is available to your school!

July is the best time to research your government funding options for the upcoming school year! Here are some tips that we found to be helpful:

• Contact information for your state's Board of Education is easy to find online
• Call your Board of Education and ask for the Grants and Funding Department
• Since private school and public school funding options differ, mention that you are calling from a private school
• Be persistent! It may be hard to establish initial contact with the appropriate individual or department, but they may have more to offer your school than you realize.
• The best times to call Boards of Education are during off-peak times (Tuesday to Thursday, 10 to 11:30 AM)
• Don't rely on phone calls alone. Leave voicemails and E-Mails, or send faxes.

• New York

Davka is a New York State approved vendor.

The following software is approved by the New York State Board of Education for purchase through this program:

• Talking Hebrew Word Book
• Hebrew Font Gallery Deluxe
• DavkaWriter Platinum 6
• Mellel Hebrew Writer / Mellel II for Mac

To order any program in the approved list, you will need to:

1. Go to the Famis Website
2. Enter your E-Mail address in the space provided
3. Search for the software you want, using the program name or item number from the list above
4. Select the products you want and order them for your school
5. Your selected products will be billed to the Board of Education and sent to you

• New Jersey

Schools in New Jersey that want to purchase Davka products with state funding need to be registered as non-public schools.

1. Fill out the Non-Public School Enrollment Form.
   For more information about this form, please contact Sandy O'Neil at 609.777.4662.
2. Contact your local school district to purchase software.
   For the Lakewood school district, contact Susan at 732.905.3686.
3. Your software will be billed to your school district and shipped to you.
• Illinois

Schools in Illinois can now get free software through the Illinois Textbook Loan Program.

Davka School Fundraising Program

Davka invites all schools to participate in the Davka School Fundraising Program, which allows your school to coordinate the purchase of educational software for your students' home use. This provides an excellent opportunity for your students to purchase Davka products at discounted prices, as well as a lucrative fundraising opportunity for your school.

This program helps your students purchase Davka products at discounted prices, as well as raising money for your school.

• How does the program work?
You can purchase software through your school at 40% to 50% off Davka's everyday low prices. Your school can re-sell these products to students at a recommended mark-up of only 15% to 20%.

Your school will need to pay for all products before they are shipped to the school for re-sale.

These discounts are available on orders of 10 or more copies of any Davka program.

• What do we need to get started?
Davka will provide customizable advertising material that you can distribute.
• Do we need to re-sell at a profit?
While this program was designed to help your school raise money, Davka does not require you to raise prices in order to participate in the program.
